F\u00fcllstoffe wurden lange vor allem mit Volumenaufbau, Kostenoptimierung und der Beeinflussung mechanischer Eigenschaften verbunden. Doch in vielen Anwendungen geht die Nutzung von Calciumcarbonat heutzutage immer \u00f6fters \u00fcber die des klassischen F\u00fcllstoffs hinaus. In solchen F\u00e4llen spricht man dann h\u00e4ufig von einem funktionellen F\u00fcllstoff.<\/p>\n

Ein funktioneller F\u00fcllstoff ist ein F\u00fcllstoff, der neben seinem Volumenbeitrag zus\u00e4tzliche technische Funktionen erf\u00fcllt. Beispiele:<\/p>\n

K\u00f6nnte man Calciumcarbonat in diesem Sinne auch als Additiv bezeichnen?<\/p>\n

Nein, denn Additive werden prim\u00e4r wegen ihrer Funktion in einer niedrigen Dosierung eingesetzt. Der Volumenbeitrag spielt dabei meist eine untergeordnete Rolle.<\/p>\n

Calciumcarbonat liefert dagegen weiterhin einen wesentlichen Volumenbeitrag und wird h\u00e4ufig auch zur wirtschaftlichen Formulierung von Produkten eingesetzt.<\/p>\n

Entscheidend ist daher nicht allein der Stoff selbst, sondern die Aufgabe, die er in der jeweiligen Anwendung erf\u00fcllen soll.<\/p>\n
