Per migliorare le proprietà del materiale finale e mantenerlo flessibile, resistente alla luce e con colori brillanti a lungo termine, il carbonato di calcio viene utilizzato come riempitivo in prodotti a base di PVC come profili, tubi o fogli.

Se nella formulazione vengono aggiunti componenti infiammabili al PVC, l’aggiunta di prodotti della serie ALFRIMAL® a base di ATH si è dimostrata un riempitivo ignifugo al posto del carbonato di calcio, al fine di rendere il prodotto sicuro, anche in caso di incendio.
