PVC Cable / Wire Sheathings / – Granulates

In order to use plasticisers in PVC-based cables or wire sheathing and to keep them functional in case of fire, the systems in question should be filled with a maximum of flame-retardant components.

Here, the respective processing temperature determines the type: ALFRIMAL®, based on aluminium hydroxide, has a flame-retardant effect by releasing one third of its weight as water at an ambient temperature of approx. 200 °C and above. ALFRIMAL® MG based on magnesium hydroxide, on the other hand, releases its crystal-bound water only at temperatures above 250 °C and also acts as an effective smoke trap of acidic fire gases, both in halogen-containing and halogen-free systems.
